Born in Edinburgh Scotland 1942
1955 - 1960 Officer cadet training at Pangbourne Naval College .
1960 Emigrates to Canada, studies at the University of Toronto while working as a copywriter for McCann Ericson.
1961 - 1962 Travels from Canada to Colombia by motorcycle.
1962 - 1964 Works at Zipaquira near Bogota as assistant to the welding superintendant of Raymond International constructing a thermo electric plant, providing an initial contact with the world of metals. Starts the first electronic language center in colaboration with the University of Medellin. Employed as cattle buyer on large ranch near Cartagena de los Indios.
1965 After a non-ferrous metals course at British Oxygen arrives in Spain. Imports large white and landrace pigs and supplies the American bases at Rota y Moron with vegetables. Makes first sculptures from recycled metals, jewellery, belt buckles etc. for Marbella´s Saturday market.
1968 After a first succesful exhibition at the Marbella Hilton sets up workshop at the farm in Mijas, Malaga.
1972 Installs an industrial complex in Malaga with foundry, polishing and welding shops. Prepares a cutlery collection for Christian Dior and a design line for Artespaña.
1981 Opens new Gallery in Puerto Banus, Marbella and moves workshops to Sevilla
1986 Nobel Prize Winner Don Camilo Jose Cela inaugurates the new complex of 12 houses and Gallery created by David in Benahavis.
1997 Finishes with business partners in Sevilla and sets up a new company in Malaga; “Bronze Age S.A.”. Creates a new line of designs to present at fairs in Paris, Verona, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
2000 - 2002 Acquires a large farm near Ronda and totally rebuilds the cortijo with collected original artifacts - to provide living accomodation, a studio workshop, and gardens to display the sculpture collection.
2007 - 2009 Purchases a house at Hahn`s Peak near Steamboat Springs in Colorado. Builds, from beetle kill lodgepole pine, a new studio workshop on the grounds. Inaugurates a gallery in Steamboat Springs and presents his latest work at shows in Breckenridge, Loveland and Las Vegas.
2010 Opens a new Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
